Default Which Head Unit?

Your thoughts everyone...

These are the speakers I already have...
Front Doors-

Back Doors-
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1166234894439

So, I've narrowed it down to these two stereos I think. Which one should I go for? The Alpine seems to sound a bit better when I compared them in store, but it could have been just how they were set too.

Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Alpine CDA-9886

If you think I'd like a different one than either of those, speak up about it, but this is about the price range I am looking at. And it has to be through Best Buy... employee discount on stereo equipment is pretty big.

if you aren't running any other equipment, I'd say get the Pioneer. It has a higher RMS wattage and that drives the speakers a little better. the 7 band equalizer is also a plus over the 5 on the alpine. It gives you more tweakability for different styles of music/radio.

I've had really good luck with all of the pioneer equipment I've ever owned. I have a really old pioneer 525 DVD player and it's decoder blows the pants off of any DVD player I've ever seen.

Thanks you guys. I'm going to take another (millionth) look at them today after my shift. I have been stuck for the past several months on which to get... you guys helped a lot.

Any more questions on them (or compared to other units) that I can't get answered on the net or by my co-workers in car audio, I'll post here.

Out of those I'd suggest the Alpine. I'd say look at Eclipse too but it doesn't look like Best Buy has them.

I'm a fan of Alpine or Eclipse H/U's although I did have a older JVC Aresonal that was good. Not sure if they still make the Aresonal line or not though. I just am not a big Pioneer fan. I like them for home audio stuff but when I was demoing h/u's for an older truck the high end Pioneers sounded just as good as the Alpine but no better. The low end ones however sounded muddy and horrible no matter how I adjusted them where as the Alpines low end through the high end all sounded great. That just kind of turned me away from Pioneer car audio stuff although I know it's decent stuff.

Pioneer all the way. I used to work at bestbuy and yes the discount it fabulous lol. I love my pioneer. Have those exact speakers in my front doors they sound good. Ide suggest amping them though. I hooked up a display at my store that showed the difference between stock speakers, speakers on head unit power, and speakers that were amped. Those infiniti's amped sound amazing.

might want to check out clarion, when i bought my truck it came with an alpine and it sounded good when it worked but my clarion blows it out of the park. i dont know if bestbuy has clarion or not though. just 2cnts. but i think when you get into the high priced units like your looking at they all pretty much sound the same just depends on what you like looking at in the dash. 3cnts p.s. pioneer looks good

For Apple computers they honor the the Apple educational discount (usually about 10%). Thats about it though. Sorry!

BTW I do have a amp for my speakers and like that setup but I did run the speakers off my Alpine H/U for a while and it was a pretty decent setup.
