Question AC on for Vent and Floor ?

I noticed the other day my MPG was down from 13.7, to about 12.9. Yesterday I started my truck and heard the AC compressor clutch kick on. I looked at my climate controls and it was on the Vent/Floor mix setting. Mine doesn't show the snow flake for that setting. So I thought it might just be the vacuum not working, but it all seems to be doing as its supposed to.
Is it like that for everyone else (you)? I used to drive with it on this setting when not using the Vent (AC Snow Flake) setting, it explains the drop in mpg...

Oh, and it certainly blows cold air, so I know the AC is working, even did a visual.
I did recently have the evap core replaced, wondering if something got connected incorrectly, like a vac line swapped out with something else.

Otherwise the controls work correctly.

MIne has always done that too. Not sure why you'd want the A/C to run in the winter, but it runs.
