That's kind of what I've started thinking but I don't know for sure. I'm not sure whats throwing it off.

Replaced the o2 sensor and cat about a month or two ago and replaced the rear o2 sensor with a o2 simm about a week ago.

I woundnt worry about it to much if it was something major it would get worse day by day top the oil off and check it in a week or two.

mine does the same thing. let idol a while then hit the gas and it puffs smoke for a couple of seconds. it's the valve seals. cant complain tho, got 365000 thousand miles on it.

yup,valve seals. replacing the heads will do the same but cost more. i will agree that the guides are probably worn and heads will be necessary some day. cost very little for seals. of coarse if these new engines don't have seals anymore then i guess i'm wrong.
