I just picked up a 99' Dodge 1500 Sport that is a fixer upper. It has a 5.9 mag, and the 46re auto. I've always been a ford guy but I could'ent pass her up. It has 160,000 on the odo. Here's the issue, I just installed a reman trans and when the truck is cold and I put it in reverse, it stumbles and dies. Driving forward it is ok. Warm, no problem. Thanks for any ideas.

 

Torque converter. Did you replace it when putting in the new trans? A bad TC will do this exact thing.

 

Yeah, it was a reman. I did install the converter dry, but i was told this was no problem.
