rearend problem
I have a 2000 ram 1500 4x4 and i have been hearing some whining coming from the truck when i drive it down the road so i got kind of curious and pulled the diff cover off and had a few chunks of metal fall out (ouch) what i found was the clutches for the limited slip were exploded, i guess my question is what kind if locker or carrier do you reccomend i believe its a 9.25 chrysler 12 bolt 4:10 gear ratio
how big of tires you running?
Auburn LSD and Detroit Truetrac are nice LSD units. The Truetrac isn't rated for as big a tires at the Auburn unit, but the Auburn unit runs clutches that wear out. The Truetrac should theoretically never wear out as its a gear driven LSD not a clutch type.
Both are solid units and a heck of a lot better than stock.

If it's mostly street driven I probably wouldn't get locker. I put a Auburn LSD in mine when the stock one failed. Isn't the Detroit rated only up to like a 32" tire or something? I read mostly good things about Auburn but a few people seemed to have them blow up after I got mine. They seem to be one of the better options though. Lockers tend to leave street drivers unhappy when they lock up going around a turn and screech tires when you turn.
