Wiring in fog lights
My 95 came without the fog lights. Obviously there is space in the bumper for the stock foglights that I bought. On my dash next to my OD switch there is a space where the fog light switch goes. I was able to get the switch that goes in the hole with the plug and about ten inches of the wiring. The question is.....Can I just run the wires straight to the lights and a hot in the on position spot in the fuse panel? I know normally there are relays and such so when you turn your brights on the fogs go off. I want to just turn them on and off with the switch. If this will work does any body have a diagram for the wires on the switch plug. It will make it alot easier to hook it up.
I just don't want something thats hot all the time because I'm the guy that will leave the fogs on and drain the battery when I leave the vehicle. I don't want to drain the battery and be stranded.
I know you're looking for specific info on a 95... but I dont' have that. I'll tell you how I would hook it up if I couldn't find that info:
The best way to do this would be to use a relay. That way can isolate the power and control wires.
The power wires hook up directly to the battery and continue through the relay to your lights.
The control line could be anything... for example, tap into the "run" wire from your ignition, run that through the switch, then to the relay. That way, the key would have to be in the "run" position and the switch would need to be on in order for the fog lights to be on. It will go off automatically if the truck is shut off.
I don't think you would want to try and power your light directly from anything that is switched in the fuse box, because you'll likely overload the circuit.
Hope that helps... Hopefully someone with more specific info on a 95 can chime in at help you out. However, you might be able to use some of the info in the 2001 FSM which you can find in one of the posts stickied at the top of the forum. I think it's in the "Merry Christmas" thread.
Good luck!

I installed aftermarket fog lights on my truck. I also am the type of guy that would forget to turn them off, and drain the battery. My truck is an '01, but I assume your truck is very similar. On the end of the dash board on the driver's side, there is a fuse box. There are a few blank, "spare" fuses, some hot all the time, some "acc". I got one of the crimp-on connectors that has a loop on it, usually for bolting to a ground screw. I cut the loop in half, so it was like a "c". -c I plugged the "c" into a spare "acc" fuse. I installed an inline fuse on the way to the switch, and the other side of the switch to the lights. They shut off with the ignition, have a fuse to prevent over load, and has it's own lead from the fuse panel, so won't overload anyways.
