Need Some Information
Hello, i am looking into buying an 01 Ram half ton 4x4 lifted with 35s.
the truck has an auto tranny in it and from selling auto parts i know that dodge has not mastered their auto trannys.
the truck as 106XXX miles on it and i was wondering what aftermarket add ons are out there (besides coolers, deep pans, etc..) to prolong these trannys.
i know that the 35s arent going to make the tranny last any longer but let me hear what you got for me. thanks.

damn, i figured that. well if i get the truck for cheap enough ill have to try my luck and hope that for selling parts to the local tranny shop can cut me a deal when the somebitch pukes.
As you can tell my truck is Canadian and my apprentice's father owns a transmission shop and he says he rarely gets Dodges like mine in for repair. Is the bad trannies an American problem?? Or are we just a little gentler on them?
I had my tranny rebuilt at around 105K or so. cost about $2800 or so, but I had a busted tranny mount, and I put in a better TC, and a shift kit, as well as a new cooler.
my truck is stock, and guessing the previous owners never did proper maint on it, but there have been reports of trannies never needing rebuilds and many more that need it around 20K-200K (hows that range Jason.W? LOL).
just look around the forum.
it seems though after a rebuild (by a decent shop) you will be good for over 100K more.
it all depends on tires, towing, and driver... best of luck with your truck.
