Does anyone know if you remove the plastic rivets that hold the rear inner wheel wells in and replace them with new ones will the they hold tight like the originals? i want to remove them for rust repair.

i've replaced mine with new plastic ones from autozone, and they were a little loose and floppy. what worked a lot better was 1/4" bolts/nuts with medium sized washers. i bolted up my front and rears, as well as the front bumper plastic. worked great, and when you want to remove one for access it comes out easy without having to cut the plastic clip.
