alright weel i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 sport and the speedometer reads 0 until the truck shifts into 2nd but after that there is no problem and the truck is driving just fine no problems there just the speedometer?

Could be the speed sensor. There is one on the tranny and one on therear end. Try to pull them one at a time and wipe the metal shaving off and reinstall and then check it out. Otherwise you`ll have to buy them.
