What is needed to make a sport bumper fit?
For some reason the sport front bumpers are really growing on me. What all is needed to make a sport bumper fit onto a non sport? Will I need the sport foglights or can I switch mine over? Not sure I will go through with it as just thinking about it right now.
i looked into this a while ago and i think i remember youll need a new grill new brackets or you might have to fab up your own. The grill on the sports drop down into the bumper a little. Not sure about the foglights but it seems there bigger on the sports.
I was gonna do the same thing.. Unless you can find a donor, new parts are gonna be VERY expensive. I think youll have to buy: the sport grille, sport grille frame, all new bumper brackets, new inner metal bumper, bumper cover, and foglights. Im pretty sure you can keep the stock headlights.
lmc now has all the parts you need:http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.aspx?Page=33

you could go this route, or you could go to the junkyard and get all of the bumper parts, taillights, and rear painted bumper. then buy the headlights (optional),fogs, and the grille assembly because the shells and grille frames are completly different than yours. if you get it all from the junkyard you will save a lot of money. my local junkyard gave me a price of $110 for all of the front bumper stuff. i will also be doing this swap when i get the money.
