Default O2 Sensors

I'm about to change out my Y-pipe and catalytic converter. I doused the sensors in PB but they won't budge. Any tips for removing them? Can you heat them with a torch without destroying them?

I wouldn't go too crazy with the heat. If they are really stuck in there, it might be easier to just get a couple new ones.

I agree, just get new ones. But, before you try again start the motor and heat things up and they may come loose. Sucks when it's hot, but they might come loose.

Use high temp anti-seize on the threads of the new ones.

It's ok to heat them up, but heat the pipe where the sensor screws in not the sensor body.

Don't be surprised if the threads are wrecked when you take it out though.

Thanks all. I heated them up with a torch on the bung fittings and with a bit of effort, like my foot on the wrench, they broke loose. Never would have happened without heat. I tried to start the truck, no workee. I tried to spray a couple of times with PB, no workee. Figured I had nothing to loose by heating them since I had to get them out or toss them with the old Y-pipe.

Truck is working fine and no codes. Huge difference with the new converter. Actually sounds like a truck instead of a morrocca. I put in the Walker 50505 Y-pipe and converter. Wound up costing $320 with shipping through Amazon. Could have had them weld in a converter but the pipe was getting tired from the beach, so I decided to replace the entire Y-pipe. Everything was bolt-on with no welding necessary. Hardest part was the O2's.
