Default anitfreeze comming from passanger side

Last night i came home and shut my truck off and white smoke started comming from under the hood and smelt like anitfreeze. I opened the hood and from the best i could see there was antifreeze comming down the passanger head in the very back. It was also laying on top of the valve cover. it had dripped down and was burning off on the manifold and exhaust. I have read on here that the intake gasket leak on these 5.9's. I have also read that the head gaskets go and the header cores. Whats got me puzzeled is the antifreeze ontop of the valve cover. It has used antifreeze for the past 3 years. Thanks Chris

I don't know if it's related, but the heater hoses pass through the fire wall just above the right valve cover.

Default water where it aint supposed to be

well it a known fact that water dont run up hill but it can be forced to so I would check my hoses first to see if it has a leak ,and presure the cooling system to see if you can find the leak. It sounds like something has been going wrong for the three yrs and maby it finally went south on you
. Another thing that can be wrong is the coolant bottle can be over flowing I learned this from experience It like to drove me crazy trying to find a leak and it was the coolant bottle overflowing and the coolant was running down on the frame rail and on to the air dam right under the radiator , It was such a small amount of coolant that I thought it was comming from the radiator. It turned out to be the waterpump impellar was gone with only one blade moving the water thru the system funny thing it never run hot with me > This was on a jeep chrekee . Then one day the last blade on the impellar broke off and she imediately shot up to hot its a good thing I was in my shop when it went. I still dont know where the rest of the impellar blades went but after a new radiator waterpump thermostat and hoses she cools fine and no more coolant smell. good luck . Terry ------------tboss
