Default Ring and pinion

Well, My rear ring gear is shot from having junk richmond lockers blow up on me... its growling like no other so its time for new ones.

Im going to be running 33in tall tires and im debating between 4.11's and 4.56 gears.
Im leaning more torwards the 4.56 because gas mileage isnt *that* big of a deal and then I have alot more power to work with.

I know that I have to have a special ring gear for the front dana 44, isnt it called a thick gear?

Can anyone guide me to the best place/prices to get the gears?

Thanks

I think 4.10's I have are pretty good for 33"s but if I didn't care about mileage or do a lot of highway driving I think I'd go with 4.56's.

Ive decided to go with the 4.56's, that way its cheaper if I decide to go with 35 or taller tires.

Im a little confused with the dana 44 instalation kits, the place that I am looking has instalation kits for the 44 that says "non dodge disconect", and style for dodge disconect...

Would I want the dodge disconect style? I was thinking that maybe for the newer ifs style 44's becasue I cant see what the difference would be.

I may be wrong! But I thought on the dana 44 you have to replace the whole carrier not just the gears. Up to 3.93 or something you can, but after that it's the whole unit.

You can get a thick cut gear that works on the 3.92 carrier and below.

i have 97 2x4 with a 4.10 gear my tires are 28 inches tall and the truck will rip them off but the truck is verry drivable and very tourqey I also have 95 4x4 with 38inch swampers and stock gear ratio even with the 38's i think 4.10 would be plenty if the truck has a real low 4low and has plenty of power to pull out of any mud hole in 4 low i guess it would depend on if you will be driving it daily or if its just a toy . but for daily on anything 38's and under i would stay around 4.10

Call or email Randy's Ring & Pinion. Even if you can find a better price and get them elsewhere, I've never seen a more knowledgeable staff when it comes to diiffs...
