Default Transmission/T-case grinding truck will not move

Hi, new member, finally joined. Got a 2001 Ram 3500 - NV4500 manual trans and 241HD trans case. The truck developed a clunk and then finally just grinding noise from transmission. Truck will not move unless at a throttle is at a dead idle - driveshafts will not rotate. Happens with 1st thru 4th gear and reverse (all gears) also happens in 2wd or 4wd - just grinds. Took trans and transfer case down. Expecting something grenaded in trans but looks fine. Clutch etc looks fine. Took cover apart on trans case and no pieces anywhere. I'm missing something somewhere. I heard there can be a c clip that pops out on the t-case output shaft. Could this be as simple as this or maybe a bearing gone soemwhere. It all started when truck hiccupped and I heard something go snap. Kind of at a loss here, any help would be appreciated.

Spoke to a transmission shop and from my description of the problem they thought it could be in the transfer case. In doing a forum search there appears to be a problem with breakage of the output shaft c clip . Anyone have a similar problem?
Thanks

Default Problem Solved

For those interested, severe grinding noise coming from trans and transfer case. Pulled pto covers from trans and found when clutch was engaged the transmission input shaft was not rotating. Pulled bellhousing and clutch. female spline on clutch disk was rotating within disk and grinding against springs. At first glance the clutch looked fine however on a closer look you could see where the female spline was rotating within the clutch disk. strange one for the books.
