Royal Purple and MMO
hey guys.. yeah I'm fairly new.. started to read about RP and decided to switch from mobile 1... Well Worth it!! I noticed a smoother idle and my temp seems to have dropped by about 10-15degrees.
In addition I've been putting MMO in my tank with every fill-up and noticed that I've been averaging about 17mpg
has anyone else seen these results? How long between changes?

I still change my Royal Purple oil around 3k miles. I just like doing it then. I sometimes will let it go 4-5k in some of the vehicles If I don't get around to changing it until then but I try to do every 3k miles. Especially now on the truck as I rotate the tires at the same time. Before that I used to run it 4k-5k sometimes on the truck.
I haven't run any of the MMO if it's the Marvel Mystery Oil I'm thinking it is.

Is that what the computer/overhead console tells you, or is that what you've calculated by hand/calculator?
I drive about 80 miles one way to work everyday... Everytime I fill up I record my mileage and gallons purchased... I average about 22 gallons per fill up (when the light comes on) My odo. usually reads between 365-375 and After I fill up I reset the trip.
MMO- After putting in 10 gallons or so I then dump in the correct amount of MMO I Usually dump in enough to treat 22 gallons. Then top off the tank. SO far this year I've put about roughly 30,000 miles on this truck. Keep it tuned up, tires inflated right, ect..
I also chopped the stock muffler right behind the cat and convert to a 3in flowmast original 40... and of course stay the heck out of the throttle... WOT is cool once in a while.. but go easy for the most part!
and thanks for the advice on changing my RP @ 3-5,000 miles!

17mpg is hard to believe.i get around 11 to 12 also.mine is mostly city driving but i could never get 17mpg. and you can see in my sig that i have done stuff to help the mpg's.now if you had a 2 wheel drive reg cab 6 banger i could see it.

wow that is great mileage... best I ever got in my y2k ram was 15.8 on a road trip thru utah.
Also, I have the same commute miles as you... climb approx 2500' everyday from about 50' in elevation. In the ram I was getting approx 17.5~18.0 mpg if I can keep my foot out of it. (picked up a commute ride to ease the fuel bill)

After my engine rebuild I was pulling mid-16's with all of my highway driving. I screwed up the transmission band adjustment and now get 15's if I'm lucky.
oh yeah... forgot to mention. I also switched from mobil 1 over to RP in the Jetta and noticed the oil lasts longer... meaning with mobil 1 I'd lose smoothness after about 3k, with rp... never, even after over 5k.
