Question What really works to increase gas mileage?

Ive been reading alot and I hear all kinds of crazy stuff from magnets on the fuel line, acetone in your tank, MMO to the gadget you put in you air intake to make the air spin when it comes in. Do any of these really work?

What are true and tested ways to increase gas mileage? I know a super chip of some kind is what most would say is the best because it actually controls air/fuel mixture but are they worth the money?

Thanks,
JK

drive slow, accelerate easy, coast down to a stop, keep the truck tuned up. a hypertech or superchip set for economy mode provides a little more power when needed, but does nothing special for mpg. all that other stuff is BS. other than these things, either don't drive or get a little car.

Keep your engine in tune, your exhaust free flowing and most important your tires inflated properly.

Drive like your 80 years old. If that doesn't work out well enough, buy a Neon.

HankL actually had a good post about things that do work. Some of them are worth the expense, some not. It's a really good read that gets missed by a lot of people because they don't check the "General" Ram page.

If you're gonna hang on to the truck, a tonneau cover can pay for itself in a year and a half.

I'd sell the JET chip and get a Superchips Flashpaq or (preferable) the SCT. Much better, and you may notice some slight MPG gains with the economy tune off one of those.
