cooling issues
yes i do have a seperate trans cooler. Madman which radiator did you get the only listing i see for a 4-core is for the v10 or diesel. I cant seem to find anyone that sells a good radiator for the 360 other than a stock replacement. I looked into the v-10 or diesel radiator but they are wider than the one i have and have different size hose sizes and dont know how it will fit with the stock fan cover. I would ideally like to find one that fits the stock width and height.
Pull your radiator and check for clear air flow, my diesel had the same problem and I just pulled the radiator and cleaned the exterior with degreaser and power washer, now I run 185-190 w/o the trailer and 195 with the trailer on long grades in the mountains at 65 mph.
ok cool... i was wondering if there was something i was missing. I was thinking about upgrading to a 2 row alum one but i just replaced the fan clutch, and i am going to pick up my trailer on sat. so i want to see if this helps. I am going to try one thing at a time until i find the problem, if the fan clutch fixes it i still might get the 2 row just for safe measure. also the aux. fan you got i assume you set it up as a pusher on the front what size fan did you use? I was considering getting one if for nothing else just to help the a/c in the summer. i really cant wait for this problem to get solved so i can work on getting some more power out of this pig. by the way those of you who switched over to elec fans was the power difference worth the work and money?
the fan was a hayden 16".....think it pulls like 1800 cfm...and no i had to set it up as a puller ..there was not enough room between the hood latch and the ac condenser.....got it set to turn on at roughly 205.....but since i changed out all the other stuff it has not turned on yet...before it was coming on driving around town....good luck...oh ya also...i cut the bottom out of the fan shroud...makes it easier...that way you dont have to fight the fan trying to work in there...and if anything i figured it would help evac some of the hot air going into the engine compartment....now the jet thermostat will actually regulate the water flow...i did not know this but most of your thermostats are just open or closed...once again good luck....
