As far as converting to real projectors, I have to take apart the whole housing and replace the eBay projector lens with what?

Thanks for the input! Greg

"Halogen yellow" produces the highest amount of lumens. 4300k at 35 watts makes about 3200 lumens IIRC.

5000K+ HID makes less usable light than a 4300 kit would. I don't know who's polluting your mind, but you CAN NOT REPLICATE HID with a painted bulb.

Seriously, just get some good Halogen bulbs and call it a day.

For a projector conversion you need projectors, creativity, jb weld, random tools, and lots of patience. It's different for every vehicle. And yes, you not only have to take apart your current housings, but gut them as well where the projector is going.

Has anyone ever taken these eBay projectors apart at all?

What if you removed the small metal shield from the inside of
the projector? Would that allow more light output?

Thanks

That would remove the cutoff, and blind oncoming motorists.

Don't mess with the projector, especially with the shield. That's what is keeping from blinding on coming traffic. If you want more light output, you can try and retrofit a different projector in its place. The projectors you have now are just for halogen bulbs, get something that takes HID bulbs. FX, TL, E55, Muranos, RX8, LS430, their is an endless list of projectors out there, it all depends what your looking for. More intensity, a wide beam, more color band for color flicker.

bizlebee,

Uncle Squirrels has been busy on the truck lately.
They are worth it but id replace the 9005 high beam bulb with a better bulb I put silverstar ultras in them and I can hardly stand to look at them and I can see so much better at night now its not even funny.

If you have any problem with them let me know Ill even give you a call if you need it.

but heads up taking the lights out and putting new ones in is a bitch! so you might wanna go on and take the old ones out b/c it takes a while. Them id put the new bulbs in ( if you are going to replace them ) in before you actually put the head lights in the truck ( they dont want to come on once their in i learned me lesson T.T). Also I can help with the led/halo wiring to the park break wire if you also need help with that.Just let me know sometime and ill give you my number .... if you need it

what was the color of the wire you spliced to to get the halo's and leds on but not flash for the turn signal? Is that my understanding of what you wanted to achieve?

What type halogen bulb would you recommend to give the purest, whitest light if I must go halogen?

Thanks

EuroDezigns 8500k bulbs are my favorite. I've compared them to Sylvania's Silverstar and Ultra Silverstar bulbs (which end up being yellow, BTW), and the EuroDezigns are whiter and put out more light. I know 8500k is supposed to be worse than stock for light output, the only thing I can think of is the EuroDezigns are higher wattage bulbs.

But with my stock wiring (before I did the whole relay wiring thing), they never melted anything or caused any damage.

ok i spliced into the the wires right behind the park/turn signal light bulb. If its all stock like mine the middle wire should be black/yellow that's the parking light wire.

the black wires from the led/halos are grounds
the white wires from the led/halos are the hot wires

this should clear it up
