Default Black bar across bumper

I really have no idea what to call it except the black bar/plastic thing. that runs across the top of the bumper. On mine it is normaly Greyish even when i freshly wash it...once it dries it turn a more of a grey. However when its wet or i put black chrome or armorall "would not suggjest armor all, exspecialy if you have the chrome bumper as when it gets wet it runs down and leaves rainbow lines on the chrome "petpevv". Is there any thing that will permantly keep it a jet black and not a grey?

HERE IS AN OLD TRICK OF MINE. TEST THIS IN AN INCONSPICUIOUS SPOT FIRST. PLASTICS ARE DRIED OUT FROM THE SUN AND FADE FROM UV RAYS. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH USING PLASTICS ON A CAR. I WAS ALWAYS ANNOYED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM YOU ARE HAVING. TAKE A PROPANE TORCH OR MAPP GAS TORCH. FROM A GOOD 8-10 INCHES QUICKLY SWEEP THE FLAME OVER THE PLASTIC. THIS WILL HEAT THE COMPOUNDS UNDER THE GRY PLASTIC AND TURN THEM BLACK. TRUST ME IT WORKS. IT WORKS ON ALL PLASTICS.

I just bought a product called forever black. It is a die so, when you put it on it stays on. It comes in a shoe polish type applicator and is little hard getting it even but, the stuff does work. It got my bumper inserts, door handles, mirriors, and taillight trim, all looking really good.

Mother's also makes a product called "Back to Black", worked well for me....to keep it black whenever i spray the tires with tire shine i hit the black on the bumpers, mirrors, and door handels with a rag covered in tire shine.

What company makes this product?? I have used Mother's Back to Black, and it works okay, but doesn't last long.

I'am not for sure what the company's name is. All that is on the box is Forever Black. There web site is www.ForeverBlack.com. Just do a search on thier name and it will pull up all kinds of people who carry it. I got mine from a place called autogeeks.com. They had it shipped in about 3 days.

I'VE USED A LOT OF DIFFERENT STUFF TO MAKE TIRES AND PLASTICS SHINE. BACK TO BLACK AND TIRE WET WORK WELL. THE BEST THING I HAVE USED FOR TIRES IS LIQUID SILICONE SPRAY IN AN ARESOL CAN. IT PRESERVES THE RUBBER AND DOESN'T ATTRACT AS MUCH DUST AS THE OIL BASED PRODUCTS. WHEN YOU APPLY IT THE FIRST TIME IT TAKES A **** LOAD TO SOAK INTO THE RUBBER, BUT THE END RESULT IS AWESOME. THIS GUY TOLD ME ABOUT IT AT A CAR SHOW . HIS TIRES LOOKED SHINY WET SO I ASKED HIM WHAT HE USED. THE SILICONE IS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT IT'S WORTH IT.

I've had really good luck with Eagle One Wet Tire Shine. I use it on all the black plastics on the truck as well as my tonneau cover.

Black bumper paint from Plasti-kote worked great last summer on my 97' sport. Pop the hood, tape off the lights and bottom of the bumper and its a quick couple passes with the can.
