Default Tranny shifting points

Ok so i have a hypertech programmer on the way thanks to talon6. Ive read on here somewhere that you cant change the shift points on the 46re. Is this true? Reason im asking is because i had the transmission rebuilt like 8-9 months ago, and ever sense its been back to the same shop like 4 times cause it didnt get done right and never shifted right. first time the valve body went bad, second time it was leaking (didnt get fixed right) 3rd time torque converter fixed the leak, now 4th time cause its not shifting right, at about 30 mph i let off the gas and instead of coasting for a while it feels like ive downshifted in a manual tranny. the rpms go up and u can feel it engine braking, the tranny has no coasting ability whatsoever even on a down hill u can fell the enginebraking the truck. And the shift between 2nd and 3rd is hard, and when it downshifts from 3rd to second it engine brakes really bad. I want to adjust the shift from second to third to be a little bit lower so when im cruising the city at 35-40 its not bouncing between gears so many times and f-in up my tranny more. eventually i have to take it back to the shop to get it fixed im just sick of not having my truck for weeks at a time.

Any chance you live in New England and had NE tranny fix it? LOL You'll know what I mean when you the see the upcoming posts.

Anyway, check out the TV cable adjustment just for sh--ts and gi--ggles If you have a Haynes manual it's in there. BTW, Which Hypertech did you get? I don't think any of them do shift points. Unless they have something new.

No, the Hypertech does not adjust the shift points.

Its a shame, alot of these "shops" just crack open the drums, throw in a couple of frictions, spray parts off with brake cleaner and put them back together usually with impact guns. Charge the customer 2k and hope and pray that it works. Then when it doesnt they give the customer the run around until the customer is tired of dealing with the "shop".

OK, you still need to check the TV cable and make sure it's properly adjusted (as close as it can be without a pressure gauge) before you go messing with a tuner.
