He always does that, jumps into a thread, posts a message just to cause a stir. I think he feels good just from getting a rise out of people.

I'm sure it has happened, but I haven't seen it, and Chevys and Fords need pulling out a lot more than Dodges it seems.

They ONLY way the chain broke doing that is
1. The chain was tied in a knot
2. He never checked his chain for bad links (stretched or cut)
3. Used too small of a chain

Like I said check with ANY tow truck driver or any tow truck owner and they will say chains used right and maintiance properly is safer and stronger than any tow rope.

I think ****** straps are the way to go. A smaller truck can then exert the same momentum as a larger, heavier truck by snatching it out. I had to pull out a forklift at work one day, and not even 4 lo got it out (the chassis torqued over, that was kinda cool) with a chain. I then got out my ****** strap, and snapped on it about 5 times and pulled it out.

They all have thier place but ****** strap or tow strap is only good for 10 recoveries befor you hit the recomended time to replace a chain is good till the links get damaged. I know from being a Firefighter that a Life rope is only good to use 1 time then we have to throw it away due to the rope is streatched and may be damaged.
