Default ACCEL or MSD??

switching to platinum 3923s this weekend. i am also going to put in MSD Street Fire wires and some kind of coil. my question is whether to use a Accel coil or a MSD coil. I had a Accel coil blow up in my S-10 (it died), so i am trying to steer away from the accel. but which one preforms better?

People on here arn't fans of the accel coil, although I've used one for over a year without problems with the adapter harness. As far as performance... Can't really say if one is better than the other, but if I had to do it again... i'd choose the msd coil for the reason you suggested above. (coil blowing up before) Thats not the first time i've heard that.

I use the MSD Blaster 2 coil. Bought two pipe clamps from Menards and mounted it to the stock coil location. Works well.

What's wrong with the stock coil if it checks out? All you need is a healthy blue spark to get things going.

That's my back up. I also carry a spare alternator and belt, fuses, light bulbs, triangle reflectors and fire extinguisher.
