Default Ram 1500

Hi guys,
I am new to this forum. I normally view the jeep forums.
I have a freind who wants to sell a 95 Ram 1500 short bed, with 360 V8. I was wondering what type of axels it has (full axel in front?) auto tranny and transfer case. Thinking some of those componets may make for a good trail rig.
anyway, thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to take the VIN to the local Dosge dealer to the parts department and they will give you a printout of what was built in the truck.

Best guess:
Dana 44 front axle
Chrysler 9.25 rear axle
46RH 4SP Overdrive Transmission (46RE started in '96)
NP231 Transfer case

Unless he did some kind of custom work to it, all Dodge Ram 1500s from 1994 to 2001 had Dana 44 front axles and Corporate (Chrysler) 9.25 rear axles.

Taking it even further, Dodge has used the 9.25 rear/44 front setup in their half ton rigs (ramchargers included) since at least the mid 70's.
