clogged A/C ?
the truck is a '01 1500 5.2L, and the A/C is no longer blowing the same amount of air as when new...over the years it has become more clogged with leaves/crap i assume- it's still cold, just not blowing as much air
is there an easy way on these trucks to clear out the A/C system? it's my friend's truck, and he managed to clear out some of the crap with compressed air, but he got stuck when trying to remove the fan under the glove box (he didn't have the tools) and he won't always listen to me (the voice of experience/reason) when it comes to vehicles and fixing/diagnosing problems in a logical manner- he'd rather guess what is causing an issue and replace it with no evidence to suggest it was broken in the first place
he won't even believe that the MAX A/C setting recirculates interior air only, you know, the kind of guy who always has to be right

SERIOUSLY!?
Jesus I never knew that.
Max AC DOES recirculate interior air! Your problem is that over the years the heat /AC box under the dash has collected leaves and other crap and is restricting the air flow. They may be blocking the blend doors or clogged up the blower fan. When I replaced my evap and heater core it was so full of leaves (pine needles especially) that I'm surprised anything blew out the vents.
