Anyone know of a MPG gage?
Scangauge-II seems like a reasonable device for the semi-gearhead
but it cannot be calibrated to increase accuracy
Oztrip Trip Computer from Australia
can fit nearly any vehicle
can be calibrated to around plus minus 3% accuracy,
can calculate miles to empty, plus the unusual $ per mile driven
and can do accurate acceleration runs of nearly any distance
like eighth mile, quarter mile, one kilometer, one mile

i am not sure if the Oztrip is available completely built anymore
and the A$ has gone from US $ 0.49 up to $0.79
so it is more expensive than just a few years ago
i have had a Oztrip for 9 years on a 1995 Ram
and have found it both accurate and fun
i wish the Australian inventor would come out with a new version
that would have the cheap tiny solid state accelerometers
like the G-Tech or now iPod Touch
and it would be a truly versatile device
able to calculate hp, torque, aero cd, braking, etc
but it cannot be calibrated to increase accuracy

they have other mpg gauges too, but they are difficult to install and not all that accurate. the scan gaugell would be the way to go... but remember if you changed your tire size your reading will be off
