Default Transmission service help???????

My 94 Ram has a 2 yr old rebuilt trans and I need to service it. I know to change the filter and the fluind in the pan but I want to get out all of the fluid in the torque converter and lines so that I can replace it with Royal Purple Synthetic trans fluid to make it last longer. Any one know how I can do this without pulling the trans or using one of those flushing machine?

Thank All

To tell you the truth i would not use Royal Purple Synthetic dont get my wrong it go stuff but as a mechance. I use the normaly stuff b/c these trans were built to use the regal stuff and i see more harm done when people switch to a synthetic in a older car or truck. They are just not built for the sythetic, acts a lot diff when it warms up if that make any sense. Just my too sen

You cant get all the old out unless you drain the converter for a long while and disassemble the entire unit and clean all of the parts and passages.

Or take it to a tranny shop and they will do a flush. They say they get out 98% of the fluid.

Honestly, it isn't too bad a deal. The place I went to today does it for $150 and they have a $25 coupon, so $125.

You figure the tranny holds 10 quarts and fluid is $5 a quart. Add in the price of the gasket and filter and you are only paying $65 extra for them to flush the system and adjust the bands. Not a bad deal IMO.

Just be careful, most places I called wanted to put in normal tranny fluid plus an additive "to make it ATF+4". While it may be true, I wasn't convinced. I kept calling around 'til I found a shop that just put in the real stuff.
