I didn't put them on thier but they are not coming off. Yes big tires pull harder and yes $1600 installed is not bad. But what I'm saying is they want twice as much for halve as much product. All your buying is a blank chip for $599 then you pay Joe smoe to program it compaired to the old chips $250 you got a new promchip custom progamed to your spec's and their was just as much labor involved in burning the chip as programing the SCT programers. I'm saying damn the price of thier stuff is high as hell.

You spend the $599 for the SCT programmer. It saves your factory tune, allows you to read/clear codes, and allows you to load the custom tunes. You don't have to pay "Joe smoe" anything, as long as you aren't doing any major changes to the truck (supercharger, for example), any custom tunes you need are provided to you, free.

I tried hard to convince myself the Superchips made a noticable differance. I drove about 85 miles that day testing it out in all sorts of conditions. Did some 0-60s, some punches, light accelerations etc. What I did like about the superchip was that it helped the truck recognize when you were starting to put more gas into it. If you started to apply pressure to the pedal, the rpms would start picking up faster than usual, like it was on the same page as you.
However, it was not worth it to me. My engine was pinging at full throttle, and even if it wasn't pinging, it wasn't anything noticable to me in power, sure as hell not "46 h/p"....I hate SCT for their price, I think it's egotistical...but when the time is right, they seem to be the best option.

my engine doesnt ping. i could defintly notice a difference in power from stock. not a huge difference but a definite difference.
i agree 46hp is a crazy claim. there is no way its that much.
i think maybe you were expecting to much, if you couldnt tell much of a difference with the 3815.
i think we all agree that a custum tune is the best, and to high priced.

I think that with the headers, intake, and exhaust I have, cancelled out any "power" you would get out of the superchip. I just don't like these chips, they are meant for stock vehicles with people who don't want to put money into an intake, exhaust, headers, throttle bodys etc. It makes sense too, because if you had a stock vehicle, it would probably make a nice differance. I think if you have or plan to do any kind of modifications to our trucks, it's not worth dumping money into these chips really meant for stock vehicles, at least with our trucks.
