ok i just put synthetic oil in my 01 dodge ram
and now when i crank it, it bleeds out the back seal
any help wat do i do

is the seal just bad or could it be something else

 

you probably had sludge plugging the leak. the Syn actually breaks up sludge and exposed it. You can fix it yourself, here's a link:

It's not that hard, just time consuming. Took me a full day to do. I did do some other stuff at the same time though. I'd give it at least 6 hours to be safe.

 

Did you just put the oil in or has it been a few hundred/thousand miles since?

Is it possibly leaking from the new oil filter or filter gasket?

 

Synthetic oil does not bode well with high mileage seals and gaskets.

 

I've heard that before....I use Royal Purple Full Synthetic...no problem on this side!

 

It does not work well sometimes with high mileage. Sometimes there aren't any problems, sometimes there are many leaks all over the place. However, I consider it a maintenance issue. The sludge was plugging up leaks, well now you actually have to fix the leaks, the proper way.

 

I wish I could get some sludge to plug up my axle leak.

 

98DodgeRam1500, that axle leak is one of things I've decided you can't complain about.
