Default fuel tank

94 dodge ram gas tank is there a diff. between 4x4 and 2 wheel drive?? mine is 2 wheel ,the reason i'm asking is the truck i bought !!! the tank is almost as low as the rear end if not lower,so if i hit a bump or somthing the tank will be the first to hit.i droped the tank and it will only sit that way under cross member.and the gauge is reading empty with 15 gals (60 litres) of gas, because the tank is lower in the back(the tank is 3/4 inchs higher in the front) the tank is no where near level.
thx guy's

Sounds like it is not installed correctly but there are 2 sized fuel tanks availible. The dealership can run the VIN and tell you which one it should have. I think the difference in tanks is about 5 gallons.

There is NO difference between 2 and 4 wd tanks, the difference is in the gallon capacity. I work at a salvage yard and have access to the hollander interchange computer system, as well as day to day sales experience. I did sell a 35 gallon tank to a guy with a reg cab short bed truck that originally had the smaller tank. He made it work but said it was a HUGE pain in the butt, but was what he wanted so it was worth it to him.

Correct, I don't believe there is a difference in 4x4 or 4x2 tanks. Its whether you have a quad cab/ext. cab or a regular cab, and/or whether you have a long box or a short box.

Yep, only two tanks, one is a 26 and the other is a 35 gallon.
