It will 4th but that doesn't explain why it wouldn't go into 3rd if it really was 3rd and not 4th.

You mentioned that his PCM would not shift into 4th gear if the fluid was below 50F.

If the fluid is above 50F, could the fluid temp sensor (if there is such a thing) be bad? If so, how do you test it?

Mine is doing similar things as well.

 

I thought the computer did it if the outside temp was -5 or below. That is what I read from a Dodge dealership.

And a $tealer$hip wouldn't lie about anything... *cough cough*

The 50 degrees comment makes sense though, as mine was locking out 4th the other day when it was about 4 degrees F.
