Default Kinda Pissed

Well I bought a brush guard off a member on here. When I went to pick it up he still hadn't taken it off the truck. My brother in law took the time to help him yank it off. There were 2 brackets that needed the bumper to be taken off to get to. He told us he would be removing the bumper and would give me a call when he got them off. I thought we were under the understanding that I would pay and I would get my brackets. Well I emailed him and he sold the damn truck with my brackets still on it. It was brought to my attention today that you can get a brand new one for $25 dollars more with all the parts. Sooooo yeah I'm kinda pissed

That sucks man. Who was it? He should either give you your money back in exchange for the brush guard or you should post up who it was on here. Wait was it PA? He is in the same state I think had a brush guard and then sold his truck.

I'd be pissed about the brackets too. However, on the $25 price difference, you really should be mad at yourself for not researching it more.

Good luck getting some brackets hope everything works out in the end.

Didn't think you would do that. I just had to wonder since he said someone on this site. Didn't mean to insult you.

Im sure he will try to get the brackets first.... so have him get the brackets and bolts overnighted to you from the other guy. Yup, if he can't get the brackets, have him drive out to pickup the brushguard and pay you back 100%.

The 2 brackets your talking about the ones in the center that attach outside the bumper brackets and actually hold the whole thing to the truck? I put mine on without removing the bumper. I used my knee to just hold the bumper in place at first and then I noticed it was holding itself up without my knee.

Trick is to do one Bracket at a time and tighten them up enough to hold the bumper yet still able to move them alittle so you can adjust the brush guard when you attach it. Its best to have someone else with you to hold the brush guard up while you tighten the bolts down all the way... or better yet have your friend lay on his back while you hold the brush guard =)
Sorry for you luck but I hope my tip helps you save some time when you do the install.

-K

PS: I'd check into getting longer bolts for the bracket, If I remember mine came with bolts just alittle longer then stock to makeup for the bracket size.

I have emailed this guy about his options on settling this problem but he has not responded. I found his truck listed in the car/truck for sale section. He had it listed on ebay. I hope whoever bought it didn't go by his listing.

Called the guy up today. he says go buy some metal at home depot have it bent and drill some holes in it. Its quite possible that will work but totally not the point. If he bought something and didn't get it all he would be pissed too. I shouldn't have to go spend more money to make it work.

I hope whoever bought his truck didn't pay much for it. his ebay listing said the frame was fine. The frame had holes rusted through it that truck ain't worth a dime.
