Default Looking to increase payload capacity.

What would be the easiest non add-a-leaf way to increase payload capacity from 2900lbs to say 3500-4000lbs in 00 Ram2500 Quad-Cab Long Bed 4wd w/ Cummins Turbo Diesel?

My buddy john wants to increase his ram's payload capacity but doesn't want to do another add-a-leaf since he's done 2 already an both times they lasted about a year then where useless.

Timbrens are supposed to be good. When I get some spare $$$ and take care of a few other upgrades first, Timbrens are next.
