Default Amsoil?

Is Amsoil a compatible alternative to Mopar ATF+3 or ATF+4? I want to know if you guys think this is a good idea or not? If I were to go with Amsoil transmission fluid, I'd want it to be in the transmission from day 1.

I use Amsoil in my transmission, mine is a 1998 Ram1500 4x4. But my transmission took Dexron/Mercon III. I checked the capatability on my big jug of Amsoil ATF and it says it is capatible with +4.

I wouldn't do it. I'd use the ATF+4 only. That's just me because as picky as these transmissions are I like to use what it calls for. Plus Wayne told me I could run anything but he recommended the Mopar ATF+4 and it's not that expensive if you buy it at Wal-Mart. Plus it's fully synthetic so it's not like it's a regular old fluid.

Just out of curiousity, Why are you thinking about Amsoil in a "broken" tranny?

That's an expensive waste IMO.

My question was intended in the scenario of a new transmission (stock, aps, etc.). I would not put any money into the existing piece of crap transmission.

It's been over 2.5 weeks since we sent them their letter. I'm sure they are going to ignore it.

Then you have the lawyer send them a little note saying they are going to be sued.

Seriously though, maybe you/your dad should contact the lawyer and see if he's received a response back. I know with the current lawsuit against me (involving a 3 year old car crash), there will be a period of month or so sometimes between letters between my lawyers and his. These things take time.
