Question Flowmaster 50 Delta Series

Does anyone have this muffler? How much louder than stock is it? Does it resonate bad on the highway? Thanks.

I once had a Flowmaster 50 SUV. It was very quiet and did not resonate. Had a nice low growl to it though. I didn't like it because when you got on the throttle hard, it really sounded more like stock.

I just put a 50 on mine to try it out and I like it alot. I agree with what Silver Dodge said, only difference is I have a Magna-Flow high flow cat and when I get on it, no way does it sound like a stock muffler.

Get the 50 Delta Flow, not the Suv version. Mine is WAAAAAAAAAYY louder than stock. Actually, there's no comparison. According to the graph, it's almost as loud as the 40 but levels off on the highway. No, there's no resonance on the highway. It is nice and subtle. But lay into it or coast down a hill at 2k rpm and pop, bang, pop all the way to a sh$%ty grin!

It also gained 1mpg and opened up the rpm at 2k.

I have the 50 series as well. With the stock converter it added some exterior noise and a nice tone, but not too much in the interior.

With my high flow cat, its quite a bit louder. About comparable to a 40 series and stock cat, but with a bit more gurgle and pop. Interior noise is more noticible, but not overpowering.

Overall, I've been very happy with it. My buddies 03 with a 4.7, no cat and a 40 series is a little too loud for my tastes so I'm glad I went with the 50 series.

Alot of the interior noise is how you route your exits too I have noticed. Dumped under the bed was the loudest, out the back quietest, and how I have it now out the sides about in the middle for interior noise level.

I realized again yesterday how loud mine actually is outside the truck. I was riding behind my truck which has a 40 series and a Magnaflow cat and when it took off holy cow is that thing loud. It's not like that inside the truck. I had forgotten how loud it was outside of the cab.

Whatever Flowmaster I had before not sure as it doesn't have a number on it but it matches summits dimensions for a 40 series but not the 50. Anyway, it was super quiet inside the cab as in you could hardly hear it and had nice rumble outside. Was pretty loud outside infact but inside you could hardly hear it unless you had the radio and all turned off and were listening then it didn't sound loud at all still. Outside it sounded a little loud and had a great tone. This was with a stock cat. Everyone was surprised when they got in how quiet it was after hearing it from outside. When I had it replaced due to the pipes rusting I told them to put the same muffler on and he said it looked like a 40 series. The 40 series seems to be quite a bit louder inside the truck and a little louder outside. I'm not sure if it's just how it's setup now or if I had a different muffler before. I like the 40 but it's louder than what I had. Anyway, then I had the Magnaflow cat installed at a later time and it got even louder.

This probably doesn't help since your looking for opinions of the 50 series but it should help if you are thinking about the 40 also.

I installed in the Flowmaster Super 44...I position it as far back I could to be under the bed because I was nervous on the resonate. PERFECT POSITION!!

I hear little if any in the cab. I have my music at the same level than before the install and it is perfect. Now when windows are down I can hear it but it is still great...I think! Loud drone at 2000 rpms but I like that.
