They feel really durable, I saw a post on there forums about someone who went off roading and his fell off and he drug it around for awhile before he hit dry pavement and heard it under the truck, the tube cracked but the LEDS all worked, he just used silicone and glued the pieces back together.

Time to bring up the dead.

I finally got around to installing my kit. Well, mostly. The cable for the rear tube was not long enough. So... I need to find a way to lengthen it. But here is how it looks right now - with the multi-color test pattern:

I put an extra 3' tube in the grille, and there are two 1' tubes in the foot well inside the truck. My battery died mid-picture... so I'll have to get a picture of that later... maybe after I figure out the cable length problem. I have and idea on how to fix it.

Next up are some RGB LEDs in the head lights and reverse light portion of the housing. I'll be hooking them up to my alarm LED to flash when the alarm is on. Working on the code for the microcontroller to fade/set colors.

Although it's not my style, my hat is off to you for doing the controller yourself. Almost nobody who knows cars also knows micro controllers.

I like the looks of them, could see it being handy as alternate light source if working under the truck in places other than my garage. May have to look into getting some.

Thanks. Microcontrollers are not all that bad... and it opens the door to a lot of cool little projects.

Once you understand how to use them, and know the language the possibilities are nearly limitless.
