Ox can only be run in the front. Open diff when disengauged, spool when engauged. I know you can run an D44 electric locker in the front which would do the same thing. So while you say putting in a spool is **** stupid, its what you would be doing LOL, just busting your *****. Anyway, how about you tell us what your planning on doing with the truck and then we can better suggest which route to go.

Default The best of both worlds

You should try powertax. It locks when going staight, and unlocks when turning corners. It allows the wheels to turn at different speeds.they have no clutches and are available through Richmond gears.

I have an Ox up front and an Eaton posi in the rear. I like them both.

well i had ment putting the spool that is just the peice you put in there and it is nothing but, what i want is what almost everybody wants, i want my truck to be very streetable, i dont really care to much for the power, but i love the torque, i want to be able to go down to the local mud bogs every other week end and rule the street heavy class( full size trucks), i almost do now but i want the edge, and be able to safely drive home at the end of the night. also we occasionally have our partys out at like lakes and feilds and pits, i want to be able to hang with the better vehicles, i am already goign up 5 maybe 8 inchs and putting 35" mt's, getting the superchips flashpak and building my intake and redoing my exhaust (true duals the right way), so now i just need the traction... those are my plans

Well I wanted to be a weekend offroader every once in a while. I want to be the guy that no one expects will make it through the mud, and be the one to do it lol. I am on the road 90% of the time, so I too wanted something very streetable. My dream is to put a Detroit Truetrac LSD in the front because you can still use it on the street in the winter, wont pull like a locker in the front, and is completely gear driven so it won't wear out like clutches do. Not to mention if there is snow on the road, I can run it in 4wd even if I hit a dry patch. As far as the rear goes, I was considering putting a Truetrac in the rear as well because you won't get the ill effects of a locker, and is very streetable back there as well. The Detroit Locker aparently "bangs" when it locks and unlocks. Lockers sometimes arn't well known for the street manors (which is why I was looking at a LSD's). They all have there pro's and con's which is why I was wondering how you planned on using your truck. I would not recomend the powertrax as suggested above. Do it right the first time and be done. That said, I guess it all depends on how deep your pockets are. I believe ox is comming out with a 9.25 application in a year last time I emailed them.

well then i guess the only question i have is how much better do the lsd's perform in the mud, i have herd them to be good, and just for a referance, i am off road just as much as i am on, will the lsd's effect that,i mean will i have any problems running them on the street or on highway miles? cause i am stationed in NC, but i plan on driving my truck home to NY a few times, maybe like three times in the next couple of years, is this going to be a problem factor?

You wont have an issue with a limited slip on road anytime. Offroad may be a little less then desirable. You might want to look into a detroit locker in the rear if your offroad that much, and maybe the ox up front or something like that combination.

well you see, yes i go offroad alot, but this is a good thing i am looking at,, now if you could tell me, whats the differance in the NOslip diff? but the truetrac looks good. i might just put a truetrac front and rear, sounds like it would work very well. the locker i would do but from what i hear, a few people have broken the detroit locker and the whole bang thing is never good. but i was woundering, do you know about how much the truetrack runs, i have the stock D44 with 3.55 gears and would like to keep it that way

I think the best prices I found are at PORC (Performance Off Road Center)

DET913A591 Front 424.99
DET913A368 Rear 504.99

No one I know has broken a Detroit Locker. There are the "lockright" and "no-slip" which are powertrax units and they do break.
