Question New Brakes.. Which do you like?

Hey guys/ladies... I'm getting ready to do a new brake job... I have no clue what is good and what is bad... I was thinking I'd like to get a big disc up front with drilled and slotted rotors...I'd pretty much like to upgrade for serious stopping power

Questions.. what is the best (in your opinion) and what is the price?

Right now I'm running Power Stop rotors up front with the cheap auto zone pads up front. Prior to the auto zone pads I had the Hawk HD pads. Not much difference in stopping power, just more break dust with auto zone lol. The prior to that I was running Power Slot rotors with Hawk HD pads. Whill this was the best stopping set up imo, it was also the shortest lasting set up. Had to replace the rotoe due to heat cracks. Bothe rotors I have used where just sloted not drilled and sloted or any other wild confiugerations that are out there.

I'm sorry, but those prices are RIDICULOUS. You can get some very nice brakes for much cheaper than that. Power to anybody that can drop that much on brakes, but seems a bit overkill.

Default performance friction carbon metallics are all I use

and they work great. NO NOISE.Dusty, but stopping is very good, with no fade. You can drop a pile of cash on cryo laser depleted uranium rotors with slits & slats and pads made from supermans foreskin but with single caliper pistons you aint gonna notice much improvement.I once read a car mag that did a baer brake conversion with bigger rotors and it actually stopped worse than the stocker. They still said it was a good investment.Dummies...

I have not heard of anyone that is happy with EGR pads on our trucks. Stay away from Autozone DuraCrap pads. Get a good pair from Napa and make sure the rears are adjusted regularly.

If I had to do it all over again...because I just got new rotors and pads...I'd save up and get the slotted rotors and different calipers if possible.

The pads make some difference but the slotted rotors are the best...just out of my price range! Also I have heard ceramic pads are best for lasting the longest..they dont react as fast but still are better.

Just my thoughts and goodluck to you!

I'm running Mopar OEM rotors from the dealer. I did have them turned last time I did pads even though they didn't act warped. I'm also running the higher end Raybestos pads I got from Fishers Auto Parts for like $100. I wanted to run Hawk pads but due to mix ups with Summit I didn't get them in time and had to buy some somewhere else so ended up with the Raybestos. I now have the Hawks as spares and not sure what rotors I will use next time.
