Default Control Arm Markings??

What are the notched markings on the lower control arm bolts? I recently replaced my bushings noted the markings were at the same marks. After replacement the truck pulled left, took it in for an alignment drives good now but noticed that the marks on the laft side had been changed? Are these for alignment or did i not tighten them enough? Should both sides be on the same marks?
Thanks for the help.

Your tires are too wide. Take a look on the inside of your tires. If you see a ring of ground off rubber, that's the problem.

The marks are notched into a cam that the bolts holding the front lower control arm to the axel. Currently i have 245 75 16 winter treads. Not too wide.

Those marks are just for reference when an alignment is done. And they are for the caster adjustment. And don't necessarily have to be at the same setting. And what the hell does a wider tire have anything to do with it! LOL

I thought you were talking about rub marks on your control arms.

And yes, for the base model rims, those tires are too wide. I have 245's and the rub like a **** on my lower control arm bolts as well as the edge of the arms.

Maybe 245 is too big for a 2wd, but 245 came standard on my 4x4. 265 was also an optional option lol... (sounded funny... "optional option" I just woke up so cut me a break). When the guys run 285/75/16's, thats when the 4x4's run into rubbing on the control arm.

My 4x4 came with the optional option of the optional 265's :P

No rubbing here.

Good god, start reading posts correctly.

It's the base model rim's that are the problem. 4x4's with the base model rims have this problem as well.

I beg your pardon? Maybe you should do the same. He is talking about the notches on the lower control arms....not rubbing tires. Also, how about you get your facts straight before you start spouting out false information? There is nothing wrong with the stock 16x7 rims on the OP's truck nor my truck, nor any other 4x4 with 245's. In my opinion, the new 20's that are on my buddys 07 ram rub from factory are a problem.
