My dad has a '96 Dodge Ram. His headlights recently stopped working. When you pull out the switch the parking and fog lights come on, but not the headlights. When you pull back on the turn signal switch to go from bright to dim, the brights come on as long as the lever is held back, but as soon as you let go, they go back out.

I checked the fuses before I knew that last part and they all looked fine as far as I could see. But, given the second part, I would have to guess it must be the switch, or possibly wiring from the switch. I really don't like messing with automotive wiring that is run anywhere other than the engine bay.

So, what would you guys suggest? Go ahead and get a new switch or something else first? Thanks in advance for your opinions.
