the pump is inside the gas tank. you will have to either take the bed of or run the tank dry and drop it out of the truck. Get a Hayes manual at Autozone. It will show you how to do it

it is surprisingly easy
to tilt the cargo box of the Ram up at 45 degrees
to get at the top of the fuel tank
and to change the fuel pump/filter/pressure regulator assembly
