I'm having trouble finding headlight housings for my dads 98 ram sport. I can find 99+ all day long, but do they fit in the 98? I just heard that the bulbs are different, but thats not a big deal since I can splice in new pigtails and be done with it.

Are there any other things that have to be done to swap in a 99+ headlight into a 98?

Thanks guys and we got the truck last Friday and 1st and overdrive was out of the tranny. We decided to start with the easiest thing first and replaced the relay (12 bucks) and the tranny works perfect and my dad is compleatly in love with the truck LOL. In the next few weeks its getting a new waterpump, thermostat, intake plenum plate, pacesetter longg tubes, pacesetter catted y pipe, and a dynomax catback. Then its getting debadged, adding a rollpan and hidden hitch, new headlights and a dash cover. I love the truck too, he went from a 94 ram long box regular cab 2wd to a 96 4wd extended cab short box chevy to this 98 ram 4wd 4 door short box and the dodge rides, handles and drives alot better than the chevy which hurts me a little bit since I'm a chevy guy.

But anyway if you know anything about the headlights or a good place to buy headers and anything else I mentioned please post it up.

There are many more, others will pipe up with any I missed.

In 1999, they went from single bulbs on the Sport models to dual bulbs, two per side. The low beams were 9007s, and the high beams were 9004s. The old config, and the way non-Sports are, is just one 9004 per side that does both highs and lows.

Yes, the newer sport headlamps will fit into the older's space.

Ok I thought that the 98 sports had 2 bulbs per side. If they only have 1 per side it will make my search alot easier.

But I was going to order the headers, y pipe, and catback from summit but everything else I wasn't sure about.
