Default HD engine in LD truck... Emisions help

Hello, My name is Randy and im a noob!
Any way, i have a 94 ram 2500 4X4 5.9L 360. I just finished an engine swap and put in a 360 from a 99 heavy duty, As you probly know the HD engine cycle is a little different (doesnt use exhaust manifold mounted EGR valve) Now the truck runs and drives really well. however somtimes at an idle the RPM's drop and just before it dies it revs itself up and is fine again for a while... The only thing i think this could be is the vacuum system, evap, purge soleniod, EGR valve, ETC. If anyone has any info that they think could help me out it would be very appreciated.
At my wits end.
Randy

What about the IAC? Did you swap the TB to the old one ?And did you replace the PCM? Did you swap all the sensors or not?

Didn't you just use your intake, tb, and other hardware off your original engine?

Thumbs up

I used the tb... but not the intake, the intake is off the 99 HD cycle engine. I got a chance to take off the TB give it a good cleaning and thought i would try that first. Everythings alot better however the idle still drops sometimes. Im sure its the IAC valve so i went to try the one off of my other 94 dodge. when i looked at the TB on it the originall owner had a zip tie on the throttle cam were it contacts the "idle stop"... Im thinking he had the same problem and installed the zip tie to "fix" it... Hahahaha Had a good laugh about that! So i guess ill have to go actually buy one. haha
Thanks for the tips!

Whatever you do DON'T buy a cheap one from AutoZone or wherever! Go to stealer or a real auto parts store and get atleast a Standard Motor Products (SMP) replacement.
