Bleeding rear brakes
#1
#2
replace the brake line.
fill up master cylinder.
locate bleeder screw on rear wheel cyl's.
spray with wd40
use a good fitting socket and break them loose, then retighten with small wrench, not too tight.
find a piece of hose or vac line about 1/4 dia and 18" long and a small bucket.
you'll place this over the bleeder to catch fluid and reduce mess.
get an assistant to operate the brake pedal.
pump up the brake pedal 2-3-4 times and hold it. say 'pedal up'.
you release bleeder screw. air/fluid comes out, hopefully in the bucket.
pedal operator says 'pedal down' and holds pedal down.
you tighten bleeder and say 'ok'.
repeat several times, until all fluid comes out, and pedal gets good and tight.
start w/right rear, then left rear.
don't let master cyl run out or you have to start over. refill as needed.
its a good idea to flush out all the old dirty brake fluid, front and rear.
front caliper has the same bleeder.
if ithe bleeder breaks off, you'll probably have to replace wheel cyl or caliper, so be careful and break them loose gently and don't round them off.
