Another thing to try, is go down to your local detailing shop. I cant remember the name of the crap we used at our shop but it was basically armor all for under the hood. Gave all the plastic that bran new "wet" look. We got five gallons of the stuff from our detailing guy. We would do a tune up on cars, spray the bay down with hot water, and then spray this stuff on it. Leave it on till it dried and wipe excess off. Made everything that was plastic look bran new. Customers loved it! Only problem was is you drove down a shale dirt road, turned your engine bay into a big red dirt ball. Other than that, on the cleaning side use hot water. Makes a huge difference on getting all the grease off.

These are old pictures, but it pretty much still looks like this. I let it get a little dirtier in the winter time because it is usually just too cold to be out cleaning on it, but it will get a nice shine up come spring. I just like to keep it clean, i'm just sick like that.

Yea you are sick...hopefully when it gets warm I will clean mine like yours! But I am still nervous about messing up hoses, connections and etc. Afraid I might remove the dirt and that dirt is holding something together!

Go down to an industrial washing place, some place that sells pressure washers, like karcher, or landa, and look for a soap called 9140, the stuff will take anything off, I wash semi trucks with it, and it keeps those real clean. get like a gallon of it, it will cost you like $10 or $15 for that gallon, then you mix it real strong with water, like a half and half mix, and its stronger than any degreaser you will buy and safe on paint. leave it in your engine compartment for 5 minutes or so, then pressure wash it out, make sure to keep your engine running through this whole process. I wash semi trucks for a job so I have some cleaning tricks although I find myself getting behind on keeping my own truck clean sometimes haha.
