odd brake and abs light stays on

did you try and jump the wires on the brake fluid sensor? as in unplug the sensor and take like a paper clip and unfold it, jump the wire and start the truck to see if the brake light turns off? so when the scanner said no communition? did you have the key in the run position?

Are you getting a "No Bus" message? That's the PCM or CCD cluster causing problems.

Didn't try it but will. Yes I had the switch on at run.
