Pulling air directly from engine bay

Default Pulling air directly from engine bay

Would it be better if i disconnected the tube that pulls air from my wheel base (the one that says Dodge Magnum) and just let it pull air from around the engine? Would it be a better flow or would the cooler air from the wheel be better?

Comments, ideas, etc appreciated.

so keep pulling from wheel base? what about the ederblocks or whatever. Dont the round air intakes pull from the engine base?

during very cold winter weather
and mostly city like driving
the engine might warm up faster
with the tube disconnected
and there is a fuel economy benefit
to faster warm up
(consider an electric block warmer too, and partially blocking the radiator opening)
