Default Bought a truck, have some questions

Hi all,
I finally bought my dream truck. 1999 Ram 1500 sport 4x4 quad cab with a 5.9l engine and that purdy intense blue paint. I took it to the dealership and had them check everything out and it checked out decent. Loose steering intermediate shaft, loose left sway bar, frozen belt tensioner, and a bad catalytic converter and that's it. Everything is pretty cheap to fix except the cat. They want $950 for an original equipment cat, $50 for a couple of clamps, and $91 for labor. An aftermarket cat would cost $545 from the dealership. Since I'm wanna upgrade the exhaust system a little anyway (Flowmaster 50 series, maybe some headers) I was thinking about just replacing the cat with a magnaflow high flow cat. This could possibly get me some performance gains and save me about 200 bucks.
My questions are, is a magnaflow cat worth the money? Are there any O2 sensors that I have to worry about? Is it gonna start throwing codes because there's too much flow? Will it make my truck sound crappy and obnoxiously loud (with a 50 series muffler)? Am I gonna loose low end torque? If you can answer any of these questions I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

well, I guess I just answered a few of my own questions. I crawled under the truck and looked at the cat and of course it's the most complicated cat I've ever seen. The Y pipe and the cat are integrated together and there's an O2 sensor right in the middle of it. So even if I do get a magnaflow it will still cost me $540 (according the magnaflow website) Still, are they worth the money?

Thanks for the replies, I bought the one on ebay for 206 bucks with free shipping. I don't know how they are selling these things so cheap ($330 below retail?) so I hope I'm getting the one I need.

lastrights, what kind of exhaust set up do you have? I'm trying to avoid an obnoxiously loud truck (like my Dak) so I'm hoping a flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler will give it a nice sound without being too loud.

And I'll have pics up as soon as I have time to take a decent shot. It might be a while though, since it gets dark at 6:00 now.

Yeah I ordered the magnaflow part #23285. Here's a link

http://www.car-sound.com/02product/d...irectfit=23285

It should get here in a few days. I'll probably have the local shop install it for me (the dealer won't do it b/c of legal stuff). I just don't have the time/patience for something like this. I'll post pics as soon as I get it done.
