Here in Southern Illinois it may get below zero or up to 60 degrees during winter. I run the same oil year round. Mobil 1 15w50 in the 96 Ram, valvoline 20w50 in the 87 D 100, and valvoline 10w40 in the 87 5th ave.

I run the same. I am in Nebraska and our winters get cold but as long as you let'm warm up you should be fine. I turned 180xxx a few weeks back. Wouldnt think twice about taking this truck anywere. Runs like a champ. :-D

I'll be running 5W30 Syntec (then Mobil 1) as it gets below zero and stays there for a fairly long (way too long) part of the winter, and stays in the teens and below for a good portion of it. I may even try Mobil 1 0W30 during the coldest part.

I live in Hell.

I run Mobil1 Synthetic 10W30 most of the year, but during the coldest months I switch to 5W30. Temps will be in the teens and single digits, but dip to below 0 from time to time during those months.

I ran 5w30 Mobil1 synthetic last winter, will be trying 10w30 Royal Purple this winter. I am going to stick with 10w30 for my engine no matter what, but may be switching back to Mobil1 after I use up the rest of my Royal Purple. We shall see.

I run 5w30 Mobil1 in my wife's 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0. I usually tend to run 5w30 in smaller engines, and 10w30 in larger ones. Haven't run a 40 weight oil since I had my very first car, a 1979 Ford LTD with the 302.

I run Rotella 15w40 but have a freind with the same truck as mine and he runs straight 50w all year round in southern missouri, and it has been known to get cold here too.
then 50w in 15degree weather didnt seems to affect it

My uncle swears by using a lighter weight oil in the winter but I just tend to use the same oil viscosity as I do in the summer.
