Default 5.9 V8 to 8.0 V10 swap.

Aside from the motormounts... Does this all bolt up to the transmission? Is the transmission the same in the 5.9 as in the V10? I have an opportunity to score a V10 complete with wiring harnesses and computer for a song and would like to have the extra oomph for towing. Now having said that, I am willing to do the motor swap, but do not want to get into a tranny swap etc...

Any and all help you guys can give me on this question would be appreciated.

No, the transmission is not the same. For automatics, the V10 used the 47RE, while the V8s used the 46RE. I personally have no idea if they'll bolt up, but if they did, I wouldn't do it. The 46RE was designed for the V8 power levels, not the V10.

The manuals were different as well, I believe.

If you want more "oomph" for towing, get a Cummins. I have read some posts in the 3rd gen section saying that the Hemi tows better than the V10

Thanks lads. So the V10 is in front of a diesel drivetrain. Got it. I will stick with what I have.
