They are handy for veterinarians or someone who legally has to lock their drugs and stuff up, and who like to make house calls (like some large animal vets). Other than that...
My dad has one on his 1994 Dakota. My entire family absolutely deplores it.
I personally think its silly. IMHO, if you are going to put a topper on your truck, why don't you just get a SUV? If you want something to cover the bed, get a tonneau cover.

I have a fiberglass cover. Not the ones that stick up to make it look like a suv but a tonneau(spelling?) cover. I like it sometimes and sometimes don't. It's a pain sometimes as you can't haul anything tall unless you remove it. However, you can also on trips and stuff put your bags and suitcase in there and they stay dry when it's raining. That's the biggest reason I like it. It keeps stuff dry in the rain. For hauling stuff I just use our trailer and it's usually much easier to load up the trailer than the bed you have to climb into anyway. So overall, I do like it. Make fun if you want but I like it.
Now the tall ones that make it look like a SUV I'm not fond of.

some people hual stuff that is to tall to fit under a bed cover.and it still needs to be locked up or just kept dry.or something to dirty or stinky to put inside a suv.
i like truck caps.they might not make a truck look better, but for some it is the only way to go.
and to answer your question,no it wont fit right.
